Bon Appetit Chef Is Children’s Book Reader For A Day

November 7 marks national early education organization Jumpstart’s annual campaign to raise awareness about the importance of building children’s early language and literacy skills. Each year, “Read for the Record” brings together millions of adults and children around the world to read the same book. This year’s book was “Thank You, Omu!” – the story of a generous elderly woman who makes a delicious pot of stew – and who better to read it than a chef? Bon Appétit Executive Chef Royal Dahlstrom was thrilled to be invited to read the story to a group of Minneapolis preschoolers on this special day and, in typical chef fashion, he arrived with freshly baked chocolate chip cookies so the kids were bound to love him.
